RECOVERY COACHING
Rebuilding Your Life After Psychiatric Harm
Beyond survival. Towards a life you want to live. Skills not pills
Helping people rebuild confidence, purpose and meaning after psychiatric injury, adverse drug reactions or difficult withdrawal experiences.
Perhaps you've come off psychiatric medication and expected life to return to normal.
Instead, you feel lost.
The crisis may be over, but life still feels unfamiliar.
You may be struggling with:
-
Loss of confidence
-
Anxiety about the future
-
Reduced trust in healthcare professionals
-
Grief for years that feel lost
-
Career disruption
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Isolation and loneliness
-
A loss of identity
-
Fear that you will never fully recover
I understand. Not because I read about it. Because I lived it.
My Story
In my late forties, I experienced a severe adverse reaction to prescribed medication that turned my life upside down.
What followed included multiple psychiatric diagnoses, hospitalisation, years of recovery and a long journey back to health.
For a time, it felt as though everything I had built had been taken away.
Yet today, I live a full and meaningful life.
I am a qualified coach, author, journalist, founder of Antidepressant Risks and someone who has rebuilt her life after psychiatric harm.
That experience informs everything I do.

What This Coaching Is – And Isn't
This is not withdrawal coaching.
I do not advise on tapering schedules, medication changes or medical treatment. Those conversations belong with appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.
What I do help with is everything that comes afterwards.
The rebuilding. The part that many people find surprisingly difficult.
Questions such as:
-
Who am I now?
-
How do I regain confidence?
-
Can I trust myself again?
-
What should I do about work?
-
How do I explain what happened to friends and family?
-
How do I create a meaningful future after everything I've been through?
These are coaching conversations.
And they matter.
What We Might Work On Together
Rebuilding Confidence
Many people emerge from psychiatric injury doubting themselves and their own judgement.
Together, we work to rebuild trust in yourself and your ability to move forward.
Identity and Purpose
When illness has dominated your life for months or years, it can be difficult to know who you are beyond the experience.
We explore what comes next.
Relationships
Psychiatric harm often affects friendships, family relationships and intimate partnerships.
We work on communication, boundaries and connection.
Career and Work
Many people want support returning to work, changing direction or rebuilding professional confidence.
Creating a New Chapter
Recovery is about more than symptom reduction.
It's about creating a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling and worth living.
Who Is This For?
This coaching may be suitable if:
-
You have experienced psychiatric harm or a severe adverse drug reaction
-
You are recovering from a difficult withdrawal experience
-
You feel stuck after the acute phase of recovery
-
You want support rebuilding your life rather than focusing solely on symptoms
-
You are looking for a coach who understands this world from personal experience
Investment
Because of my personal commitment to this community, these sessions are offered at a reduced rate compared to my standard coaching fees.
Individual Session: £85 per 50-minute session
Recovery Support Package: 4 sessions for £300
Sessions are intentionally shorter than my standard coaching sessions because many people recovering from psychiatric harm find 50 minutes easier to manage, process and integrate.
There is no minimum commitment. Some people book a single session, while others prefer the structure and continuity of a four-session package.
A Final Word
One of the hardest things about psychiatric harm is that people often focus exclusively on survival.
At first, that's entirely appropriate.
But eventually a different question emerges: "How do I start living again?"
That is the question this coaching is designed to help you answer.
Because recovery is not simply about getting through.
It's about rebuilding.
And sometimes the most important chapter of your life begins after the chapter you never wanted.
