ABOUT ME
I didn’t come to coaching from theory alone. I came to it through lived experience, professional rigour, and rebuilding a life deliberately and consciously.
For over 25 years, I worked as an award-winning documentary filmmaker, travelling internationally and making films for broadcasters including the BBC, HBO and Netflix. From the outside, my life looked successful and settled. I was married, raising two children, and operating at a high professional level.
In my forties, everything changed.
A marriage breakdown and a period of severe stress led to a medical intervention that had devastating consequences for me personally. I experienced a rare but extreme adverse reaction to prescribed medication, which resulted in a prolonged period of illness and loss. Recovering from that experience forced me to question deeply held assumptions about success, mental health, identity and resilience.
I rebuilt my life from the ground up.
That rebuilding was not quick, linear or cosmetic. It involved learning how to regulate my nervous system, change entrenched thinking patterns, rebuild physical strength, and make decisions from clarity rather than fear. I returned to fitness, trained for endurance events, rebuilt my career, and created a stable, loving co-parenting relationship with my former husband. Most importantly, I learned how to move forward without becoming defined by what I had been through.
That period fundamentally changed how I understand human behaviour, pressure, identity and change.
Why I coach the way I do
My coaching is shaped by three strands:
Lived experience of high-pressure collapse and recovery
I understand what it feels like to look competent while internally overwhelmed, overthinking and second-guessing yourself.
Professional training and rigour
I trained as a life coach with the Co-Active Training Institute and am accredited by the International Coaching Federation. I also incorporate evidence-based mental fitness tools, including Positive Intelligence, to help clients recognise and interrupt unhelpful patterns such as perfectionism, self-doubt and rumination.
A performance and health lens
I am also a qualified Level 3 fitness instructor. Where relevant, I integrate practical work around energy, sleep, movement and routines, because mental clarity is difficult to sustain in a depleted body.
Who I Work With
Who I work with
I now work primarily with high-achieving mid-life professionals who are outwardly successful but feel internally stuck.
My clients include senior leaders, founders, professional athletes, creatives and people in the public eye. They are not in crisis. They are at a crossroads.
They come to me because they want:
-
clarity without navel-gazing
-
challenge without judgement
-
progress without burnout
-
and a coach who understands pressure, responsibility
and complexity
Advocacy and Writing
Alongside my coaching practice, I am the author of The Pill That Steals Lives and a freelance health journalist writing for national newspapers
I also founded Antidepressant Risks, a not-for-profit focused on informed consent and medication safety. This work matters deeply to me, but it does not define my coaching. What it does bring is a commitment to honesty, autonomy and informed choice.
Where I am Now
My life is not perfect, and I do not sell perfection. It is, however, grounded, purposeful and consciously built. I know how to move from fear to agency, from overthinking to action, and from survival to momentum. This is what I help my clients do. If my story resonates, I would be glad to hear yours
